Clear fee dues and appear for exams: DPSG to students

GURGAON: Parents of Delhi Public School-Ghaziabad (DPSG) students were left fuming at the school authorities on Tuesday after the school alleged that many parents had not paid fees since the fee hike in April.
The school said it would not register students for board exams till the dues are cleared. The parents expressed willingness to pay fees according to the old structure, and said school principal Deepika Sharma should keep in mind the Fees and Fund Regulatory Committee (FFRC) order.
The FFRC, headed by divisional commissioner D Suresh, had in June issued an order, preventing DPSG, Palam Vihar, from hiking fees without submitting form VI — a document which lists the entire income, expenditure, staff strength and details of infrastructure. At 11am on Tuesday, at least 100 parents assembled at the school to meet the principal, who asked the parents to give the school board some time to make the decision. "I will tell the management right now. A decision will be made after that," said Sharma.
The parents, on the other hand, said school should not do this to the children as they already have enough burdens with the board exams. Undue pressure is being put on parents too.
Parents Association president Dev Kumar said, "The parents will not deposit the fees. The school has asked for 2 to 3 days to sort out the matter. The principal will talk to the management during this period, after which the registration process will be done. Parents will not be disturbed during this period." Association's vice president Sanjay Kumar said, "The parents have not deposited the fees since April. It is not that the parents do not want to deposit the fees, but the school is refusing to accept fees on the old pattern."
