HYDERABAD:A woman wearing green coloured saree absconded with a three-day-old boy after diverting the attention of his grandmother near the Niloufer Hospital on Monday. The investigators suspect it was a pre-planned operation and that as many as three people could have been involved.
Preliminary probe has revealed that the gang was monitoring unsuspecting persons at the Petlaburj Maternity hospital. The victim on Monday was 45-year-old Kalpana, who was cheated by a woman posing as a nurse.

Investigating officer Penta Gounda claims to have collected CCTV visuals from different places and they are being verified. Five teams have been formed to nab the accused.
Visuals collected shows an auto rickshaw without number plate following the 108 ambulance which Kalpana boarded along with the accused woman at the maternity hospital. “When the ambulance reached Niloufer Hospital, the accused accompanied Kalpana while others waited in the auto parked near hospital,” said the police.
“It was a preplanned offence. The accused attempted to kidnap the infant at Petlaburj Hospital itself, but it was in vain. She then executed it near Niloufer Hospital which is a congested spot,’’ said Inspector R Sanjay Kumar. After kidnapping the infant, CCTV visuals show the woman walking towards the main road from the hospital. An autorickshaw stops in front of her and she boards without any question. “Visuals show the auto crossing Lakdikapul, Nampally, Mozamzahi market and Shahinayathgunj police limits,” added police. “As the auto crossed Shahinayathgunj, it turned into a congested stretch where CCTV footage is unavailable.”
