Wheat gains 0.82 pc in futures trade

Wheat prices rose by 0.82 per cent to Rs 1,729 per quintal in futures trading today on speculative buying.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in November went up by Rs 14, or 0.82 per cent, to Rs 1,729 per quintal with an open interest of 9,280 lots.


Similarly, wheat for delivery in December gained Rs 14, or 0.81 per cent, to Rs 1,747 per quintal in 2,970 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in wheat futures to speculative buying.
