Cancellations of online bookings in the last minute might be possible soon. Film goers are reaping rich out of the recent move by Paytm, which provides a cancellation protect facility to every ticket you book, with an additional surcharge. The facility enables an online user with a window even three hours before the movie time, to cancel a ticket.
Movie goers can avail this by paying ₹9 per ticket. The user will be refunded the ticket amount minus the service charge entailed.
Though other movie portals are yet to catch up with this tricky facility, Bookmyshow, through its Superstar user feature, has recently given the option to cancel tickets restrictively based on the number of transactions they have done on the website in addition to the credits he/she has gained. The USP of the same being, no cancellation charges, in a bid to attract the user.
However, many others haven’t followed suit. Portals like justtickets.in and ticketnew.com are still deliberating on the cancellation feature.
The other option users currently make use of, for unsure bookings, is trying their luck across various social media groups. Snapdeal’s feature ‘Shopo’ too had worked on the idea of selling one’s movie ticket in a portal a couple of years ago, which didn’t fructify.
