Shivanna to slow down, will stick close to good scripts

Going by his choice of films, Shivarajkumar is sure to make the moviegoers overlook his age. Of course, this actor is spoilt for choices but he is keen on quality content and is open to working with fresh talent, as well as established artistes.Juggling work on two films - Tagaru and The Villain -- he is keen on associating with Prem again for Jungamma. But officially, his next after the two will be a remake of Malayalam hit Oppam, to be helmed by new director GVR Vasu. This the Century Star himself confirms with City Express.

“After Oppam, I have Harihara with Pramod Chakravarthy and that I will follow up with a project with Lakshman aka Lucky, who is my father’s sister’s grandson. Lucky has come up with a good script,” says Shivanna. “I have approved a script from the director Abhay Chandra of Block C No. 135, which might go on floors after eight months. I will be working on a big-budget film with Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, and in it I will be playing a dual role after a long time. In fact the script is ready and we are only waiting for everything to fall in place, before we go on floors”.
Film on MP Jayaraj is on cards, Talks are on with writer Agni Sridhar & producer
Shivarajkumar may lead in a film on Bengaluru’s first don MP Jayaraj, which was initially planned with Upendra, but had to be shelved because Real Star has decided to focus on politics. Now the story written by Agni Sridhar for a film to be helmed by H Lohith and produced by Bhaskar has fallen into Shivarajkumar’s lap, and we hear that the star has given the go ahead for it. He says, “It is too early to reveal any details of the movie, but the script is interesting and I liked the way the story has been told. I am in talks with Agni Sridhar and the producer, and we will share more details once everything has been finalised.”
Will cut down to 2 films from 2019
Shivarajkumar fans might be disappointed to learn that the hatrick hero has decided to cut down on work. “I am 55 and don’t want to strain myself. I want to use my energy to be part of movies that will give me a chance to act,” says Shivarajkumar, adding, “Of course, it is always a blessing that people want to work with you. But, I don’t mean to be arrogant. I have always listened to scripts narrated by everybody because I didn’t want to disappoint them. However, there have been times when people narrate a story to me and believe that I have approved it, because I listened to them. I don’t have control over them.”
Sri Muthu Productions on roll, my daughter Niveditha will take care of it
The actor is also in the process of reviving his production house Sri Muthu Productions. “It is almost like what Puneeth Rajkumar is doing with his production house,” he says. “This year we will be concentrating on serials and by mid next year, we might start work on films.We are keen on bringing out films for various actors and to work with various filmmakers. Our production house will be managed by my daughter Niveditha”.
