Man ‘kills’ girlfriend, ends life

A 32-year-old man allegedly murdered his girlfriend before committing suicide at his Ambernath residence. The police found the bodies of Metram Verma (32) and Aanchal Mahale (20) at the flat where Verma was staying on rent.

An officer said that on Tuesday morning, Verma strangled Mahale to death and sent a message to her family that he had killed her. He then committed suicide by hanging himself. The police are not clear about the reason behind the extreme step. An officer said the girl worked in a private company and resided in Diva with her mother, and Verma was a labourer.
