Ever since Kamal Haasan and director Shankar announced their plans for a sequel to Indian, people have been speculating about the film’s script and the cast.

In the final episode of Bigg Boss Tamil, hosted by Kamal Haasan, it was announced that the actor would collaborate once again with director Shankar for the sequel to their 1996 super-hit film, Indian.

Telugu producer Dil Raju was originally said to be the producer for this film.

But a reliable source now tells us that Dil Raju has backed out from the project owing to the huge royalty amount that the producers of the original film are demanding.

The source also adds that Lyca Productions will now bankroll the project. It is notable that Lyca Productions is also producing Shankar’s 2.0, as well as co-producing Kamal’s Sabaash Naidu.

Reportedly, Ravi Varman, who has previously collaborated with Shankar on Anniyan and with Kamal for Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu and Dasavathaaram, has been roped in as the cinematographer for Indian 2.
