Market Now: BSE Consumer Durables index in the red; Bajaj Electricals top drag

NEW DELHI: Shares of Bajaj Electricals (down 2.41 per cent), Rajesh Exports (down 1.19 per cent) and Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals (down 1.13 per cent) were trading in the red, dragging the BSE Consumer Durables index lower in Tuesday's afternoon trade.
The S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading 0.32 per cent down at 18,226 around 01:30 pm (IST). Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 20 points up at 10204, while the BSE Sensex was 70 points up at 32,577.
Shares of PC Jeweller (up 1.79 per cent), Nilkamal (up 0.56 per cent), Symphony (up 0.36 per cent) and Titan Company (up 0.31 per cent) were gaining in the BSE Consumer Durables index around that time.
In the Sensex index, State Bank of India, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, NTPC, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Hindustan Unilever and Maruti Suzuki were among the top gainers.
On the other hand, Tata Motors, Infosys, Sun Pharma, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro were among the top losers in the Sensex kitty.
On the BSE, 1,455 stocks were advancing whereas 1,150 stocks were lagging and 144 stocks were appearing unchanged.
