Kamal Haasan may attend Rajinikanth’s 2.0 audio launch

The latest industry buzz is that movie-demigod Kamal Haasan will grace the upcoming audio launch event of 2.0, starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles. The makers have reportedly approached the Vishwaroopam star to be the chief guest at the grand film event, which is set to take place in Dubai on Friday.

The producers, however, are awaiting a confirmation from Kamal. There are high chances of the actor attending the event given his proximity to the cast and crew of 2.0. While Rajinikanth has been his friend for over 40 years, director Shankar will be directing him in Indian 2 soon, which is likely to be bankrolled by Lyca Productions.

The sequel to the 1996 film was announced during the grand finale of the first season of Bigg Boss Tamil recently. Tollywood producer Dil Raju was named as the producer of the project, which is reportedly close to Rs 200 crore. However, of late, the industry sources have suggested that Lyca Productions have taken over the project for unknown reasons. An official announcement on the same is awaited. So the fans may expect to see Kamal and Rajinikanth sharing the stage together at a non-political event after a long time.

2.0 audio will be launched at Dubai’s Burj Park. The tickets for the grand event are already sold out and a VIP table at the event reportedly was priced at Rs 6 lakh. Besides the star power of the event, the music release function also has another main attraction. Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman will give a live performance on the stage. The renowned musician will perform a 30-minute piece comprising his numbers for 2.0.

2.0 is director Shankar’s most ambitious project, which is being made on a lavish budget of Rs 450 crore. It is a sequel to the director’s 2010 blockbuster sci-fi drama Enthiran, which also had Rajinikanth in the lead role.

The post-production of the VFX heavy film is on, which is set to hit the screens in January next year.
