The body of the youth who was reported missing in the Neyyar river a day ago was found on Monday.
According to the police, the dead body of Adarsh, 21, who hailed from Keezhattingal, was recovered close to the bathing ghat where he along with his friend Manikantan of Aryanad had gone missing. Manikantan’s body had been recovered on Sunday.
The incident had taken place after the duo went to their friend Anoop’s residence in Arattukadavu, following which the gang decided to take a dip in the Neyyar river. While Adarsh and Manikantan were swept by strong waves, Anoop made frantic attempts to rescue them, but in vain. Soon, the police and the Fire and Rescue Services were alerted, following which search operations were launched. (EOM/SBG)
