A team of the Intelligence Agency on Monday conducted a raid at the Vishal Film Factory, a production house owned by the president of Film Producers Council, actor Vishal.

The raid started after 2 p.m. at the premises of the Vadapalani office of the production house.

As per reports, the raid by the GSTI is to find out if there was any evasion of the amount paid by the production house.

On the request of GSTI, Vishal has provided all necessary documents.

The Intelligence Agency is tasked with checking the evasion of Goods and Services (GST).

Vishal is the secretary of the Nadigar Sangam and the president of the Film Producers Council.

The Vishal Film Factory, set up in 2013, has produced six films including Kathakali, Naan Sigappu Manithan and Aambala, all movies in which Vishal himself was the lead actor.

Earlier, Vishal was in news for announcing a reward for tracking down the admins of Tamil Rockers - a website that uploads pirated copies of newly-released Tamil films.

Recently, he also called out Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader H. Raja for saying that he watched parts of Vijay starrer Mersal, online.
