CEC added that EC had not stopped any party from announcing poll-related Standard Operating procedure.
NEW DELHI: Facing flak from political parties in Opposition and former chief Election commissioners alike, for delaying the announcement of the Assembly polls in Gujarat, Chief Election Commissioner Achal Kumar Joti on Monday said EC was not 'favouring any party' and it shall not interfere in the poll process in any way.

Reacting to Congress' P Chidambram's statement last week, in which he alleged that the dates were delayed to accommodate PM Modi's rally in the state before the implementation of the model code of conduct, Joti added that EC had not stopped any party from announcing poll-related Standard Operating procedure.
