BHUBANESWAR: A contractor allegedly committed suicide in a quarter in Raj Bhavan Colony here on Saturday night. The body was found hanging in the room on sunday by one of the workers. He has been identified as Dilip Nayak (44), a resident of Baramunda in the City.

According to Commissionerate Police, the contractor had undertaken construction work of an indoor hall on Raj Bhavan premises. He was also provided a temporary quarter for storing construction materials as well as resting.

Nayak took the extreme step when he was alone on Saturday night. Sources claimed he was upset over some monetary issues. Police confirmed to have recovered a suicide note and a mobile phone from the spot but did not divulge any details about the letter's content."We have registered an unnatural death case and investigation is on," Capital police said.
