3 arrested for Rs 10 lakh theft

Rajkot: Three of the four accused who stole Rs 10 lakh cash from the glove box of a two-wheeler belonging to one Gulab Hyder Varteji (40), a resident of Dil Bahar Baug Society in Bhavnagar, were arrested from Ahmedabad on Monday.
Police said that Vijay Machharekar (32), Dhabu Ghamandi (28) and Dashrath Bajarange (45) were arrested from Chharanagar in Ahmedabad. "Their identities were ascertained on the basis of a CCTV footage in which they were caught while committing the crime," said Bhavnagar LCB sub-inspector Nitirajsinh Jadeja, adding that the identity of the fourth accused was yet to be ascertained and he hoped that it would be revealed during the interrogation of the arrested accused.
According to case details , Varteji had gone for shopping near Ghogha Gate police chowky on October 14. He had parked his two-wheeler and had kept Rs 10 lakh in its glove box. The thieves stole the money by breaking the glove box. CCTV footage showed that the thieves arrived on two vehicles.
LCB Bhavnagar which arrested the accused recovered Rs 10 lakh and a bike from them and handed over the trio to the C-Division police station of Bhavnagar police for further probe.
