Spot pepper fell further on Monday on availability of imported pepper at cheap rates, trade sources told Business Line.

On terminal market, 12 tonnes were traded today. Of this, 10 tonnes were imported stuff which were traded at ₹420 a kg. Two tonnes of High Range pepper were traded at ₹435 a kg. Spot prices fell by ₹200 a quintal to ₹42,900 (ungarbled) and ₹44,900 (garbled) a quintal. Export prices were at $7,150 a tonne c&f for Europe and $7,400 a tonne c&f for the US.
