Tourism fest at Rajpath to begin today

To focus on the benefits of tourism, showcasing cultural diversity of the country

The Ministry of Tourism is organising a three-day event on Rajpath lawns beginning on Monday to celebrate the culmination of a 21-day “ParyatanParv”, a nation-wide tourism festival.

The programme is being organised with the objective of drawing focus on the benefits of tourism, showcasing the cultural diversity of the country and reinforcing the principle of “Tourism for All”.

The public event will be organised between Rafi Marg and Janpath between 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will include cultural performances, a crafts bazaar, multi-cuisine food court and several interactive stalls to keep visitors engaged at the event venue, said the Ministry of Tourism.

The event promises to have 50 food stalls set up by various states and union territories showcasing their distinctive cuisine including stalls set up by the National Association of Street Vendors of India (NASVI) that will bring several street vendors from different parts of India to the capital.

Crafts mela

The crafts mela with have 50 stalls showcasing diverse handicrafts and handlooms of the country, arranged by the State governments and Ministry of Textiles.

To showcase their tourism potential, 15 theme-based State pavilions will be set up at the fest.
