Director and actor Samuthirakani

Vetrimaaran, who is currently busy with his next, Vada Chennai, is also known for producing quality films such as Kaaka Muttai and Visaranai under his Grass Roots Film Company banner.

Sources say that his next film as a producer is to be directed by his former associate Manimaaran, who previously helmed Udhayam NH4 and Pugazh.

Titled Sanga Thalaivan, the film will apparently feature Samuthirakani in the lead and is about the trials and tribulations of weavers in the state. Iniya is expected to play the female lead in Sanga Thalaivan, the shooting for which is likely to commence from November.
