MTH workshop concludes

KOCHI: The MTH Criticare Update 2017, the two-day workshop organised by the Medical Trust Hospital (MTH), concluded at Hotel Avenue Centre here on Sunday. A host of microbiology experts attended and spoke at the event.

MTH medical director P V Anthony had presided over the inauguration of the workshop on October 21. Microbiologist and expert in infectious diseases Dr Camilla Rodrigues presented the keynote address. Dr P Sharikh, Dr Anoop R Warrier and Dr K V Anil, all experts in infectious diseases, were part of the workshop. A ‘Care-based hands-on workshop’ reinforced new concepts in critical care, while the Continuing Medical Education (CME) had a workshop on emerging field of rapid microbiological diagnostic technologies. The workshop also discussed the issue of drug resistance and possible ways to thwart bacterial spread. The event was 6th in the series of annual state-level critical care CMEs organised by MTH Department of Critical Care.
