District Collector T.N. Hariharan on Sunday conducted surprise inspection to review preventive measures taken to control mosquito breeding in residential areas of Theethipalayam, near Thondamuthur.
In an early morning inspection, he visited several houses in the area and instructed Health Department and Revenue officials to clear breeding sources of dengue spreading Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes.
The Collector directed officials to ensure chlorination of drinking water in adequate levels. Officials have also been instructed to conduct mass cleaning drives in residential areas.
Directing officials to sensitise people on dengue and importance of clearing mosquito breeding sources, Mr. Hariharan informed them that surprise inspections in the morning will be continued in other parts of the district in the coming days.
