Rahul is slated to visit Gujarat again from November 1 to 3 on an election campaign.
Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar on Monday created a buzz in Gujarat’s already ruffled Patel politics, with rumours of Patel quota stir leader Hardik Patel meeting Rahul moving thick and fast throughout the day.
Many local television channels flashed the news that Hardik had met Rahul Gandhi in his hotel. Some also suggested that Hardik was put up in a room, adjacent to Ashok Gehlot, a senior Congress leader, to facilitate a secret meeting between the two leaders.
This despite Patel issuing a statement saying that though he was supposed to meet Rahul Gandhi, he could not do so on Monday due to his pre-determined functions outside Ahmedabad.
“We will meet perhaps next time when Rahul ji visits Gujarat in the first week of November,” Hardik said.

However, Patel denied that he was joining the Congress.
