Kishore keeps his uniform on, in Howrah Bridge

What draws Kishore to a movie is the character he gets to play and the social relevance of its script, irrespective of the language.

The actor, who has just completed a schedule of Vetrimaaran’s Tamil film Vaada Chennai, is now on the sets of Lohith H’s upcoming directorial Howrah Bridge, which is a bilingual being made in Kannada and Tamil. As Kishore Sinha, the actor will be yet again seen in the role of a police officer based out of Kolkatta and will even have a few dialogues in Bengali.

He gets to work with Priyanka Upendra for the first time and, according to the filmmakers, the actor managed to spare a few days for the project because he liked the role and the subject. Kishore who wore a beard for Vetrimaaran’s film, didn’t mind getting rid of it for this one. We caught hold of a few photos from the sets and they show the actor all charged up to play the tough cop.

Kishore, who can play a cop and a villain with equal poise, says, “Today actors rarely get to be part of films that are character driven. But Howrah Bridge gives me that opportunity.” According to him only ‘star movies’ draw a well-defined line between a protagonist and an antagonist. “Otherwise most films are made of several characters with various good and bad shades,” he says. “In Vetrimaaran’s upcoming film, which I am currently shooting for, has different characters with multiple shades.”

The actor, who will be completing work on one film till November 1, will get back to his work on the Tamil film. Meanwhile, he has accepted another project in Kannada, which will again see him play a cop.

“Nanna Prakara is the title of that movie,” he says, “and it marks the directorial debut of Vinay, who has come up with a good script and has roped in Manohar Joshi as its cinematographer”. Then there is Sattai Part II, the shooting of which will start soon. He adds, “I will also be working on a movie titled K, a bilingual to be made in Kannada and Tamil”.
