Powercom employee electrocuted in Punjab

A 33-year-old powercom employee was electrocuted here while he was repairing power lines, police said today.

The incident took place on Khothran road last evening. Surinder Singh was repairing power lines during a formal shutdown in the area, but electric current resumed suddenly, an official said.


Singh, a resident of Pathankot, was posted in Phagwara.

The Powercom department is probing how the power supply resumed despite a formal shutdown.
