India vs New Zealand: IND opt to bat in Virat Kohli’s 200th ODI

Indian cricket team skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat against New Zealand in the first One-Day International of their three-match series, at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. The contest on Sunday is a milestone for Kohli, who is playing his 200th ODI. (LIVE BLOG)

India have made two changes to their side, bringing in Dinesh Karthik in place of the struggling Manish Pandey at No 4 to strengthen their middle order. Also, Ajinkya Rahane, who scored four half-centuries on the trot against Australia, had to make way for Shikhar Dhawan. (LIVE SCORECARD)

New Zealand will play a three-match ODI as well as a three-match T20I series on this tour of India. The second ODI will be played on October 25 at Pune, whereas the final ODI of the series will be at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on October 29.

The three-match T20I series will begin November 1 at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi – a game which senior Indian cricketer Ashish Nehra has said will be his last in international cricket.

The second T20I will be at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on November 4, whereas the third and final T20I will be played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on November 7 – the latest venue added this season along with Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
