BJP Lok Sabha Memebr of Parliament (MP) from Jorhat, Kamakhya Prasad Tassa, courted controversy when he allegedly compared Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru with garbage.

Assam Pradesh Congress Committee has lodged FIR against Tassa and sought his arrest. Lok Sabha MP from Jorhat, Kamakhya Prasad Tasa while addressing a public rally in Sonari recently compared Nehru and the Father of the Nation Mahatama Gandhi with garbage.

“The Congress has pushed the Nehru-Gandhi garbage in the minds of people over the years and there is now no space for other theory,” Tasa said while addressing a public rally.

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said in his tweet that, BJP MP’s speech equating Pandit Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi with garbage is condemnable and he should issue a public apology.
