Locals take rotten plants to tehsil office

PARALAKHEMUNDI : With reports of crop damage pouring in from other districts, various crops worth lakhs of rupees have been damaged by the incessant rains in Mohona block of Gajapati district. In such a scenario, Malaspadar Sarpanch Jhumpinga Malik led hundreds of farmers from across the block and reached the tehsil office at Mohona on Saturday with rotten plants to seek compensation and waiver of farm loans. The farmers also urged the agriculture and other officials to provide them with seeds for rabi crop as the present crop has got damaged.
