Three murder cases were reported in the Capital on Thursday, one in Northeast Delhi’s Harsh Vihar, another in Samaypur Badali and the third one in Nangloi.
In Harsh Vihar, a 21-year-old man was bludgeoned to death by a few men when he was lounging in a park near his residence. The victim, identified as Sandeep, a resident of Mandoli, was attacked with bricks. “A PCR call was made by a passersby at 11:50 p.m. The victim was identified within half an hour. He has four brothers,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) A.K. Singla.
The police said they have questioned several people, including the family, and have managed to identify the killers. “The reason behind the murder appears to be personal enmity,” said Mr. Singla.
A senior police officer privy to the case said that Sandeep had an argument with a couple of boys a few days ago when he objected to them relieving themselves in the open. “The boys threatened him. We are investigating the matter from all angles,” he said.
Employer suspect
In Rohini’s Samaypur Badali, a 26-year-old man identified as Priyanshu Sharma was stabbed to death. The police suspect involvement of his employer in the murder.
Priyanshu, a native of Bihar, was running a call centre in the same building where he lived. According to the police, the accused had come to his apartment on Thursday after which the two had an argument over share in the business. “The accused fled with the victim’s ATM card, laptop and cash,” said a senior police officer.
Several teams have been set up to nab the accused.
Another dead body was found in an underpass in Outer Delhi’s Nangloi area. The victim hasn’t been identified so far. . The police suspect it to be a case of a robbery attempt.
