TIRUPATI: After several centuries, the TTD is reconstructing ‘prakaram’ for Srinivasa Mangapuram temple with `1.97 crore. The prakaram will be constructed in granite, according to ancient traditions.
The work is in brisk pace at north-east and north-west corners of the temple.
The existing prakaram was renovated when PVRK Prasad was working in the TTD as the EO. But, it again needs renovation.
So, the TTD decided to construct it again on the existing place after removal of old ones.
The present construction was appreciated by several groups, because they are using huge granite stones and workers are also very experienced. The Engineering department had proposed some more renovation works but the Archeology department has not permitted to carry those out. “We have urged the Archeology department once again. We will start the work soon after getting permission,” said C Chandrasekhar Reddy, TTD Chief Engineer.
