Congress corporator among 20 held for gambling

Nagpur: Congress corporator from Central Nagpur Ramesh Punekar was among 20 rounded up by a team of Pachpaoli police station for gambling at Motibagh railway quarters in the wee hours of Saturday.
Punekar, a former BJP corporator, had been nabbed for gambling earlier too on two occasions. Punekar's repeated arrests from gambling den had denied him a BJP ticket during the civic election held in February this year.
The squad, under PI Narendra Hiware, seized cash Rs1.35 lakh, four bikes and other material totally worth more than Rs3.61 lakh, from the place. Offence has been registered at Pachpaoli police station.
