Ujjain : Senior officials of Ujjain division have claimed that the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had appreciated them for redressal of (land) revenue cases, since the division had come on top in such matters. Ironically, no ‘particular’ appreciation was made by the State government or from any quarter in Bhopal.
The medium through which local officials tried to exhibit their calibre and potential was a video conference, which the CM addressed from Mantralaya (Bhopal) on Saturday. Divisional commissioner MB Ojha, collector Sanket Bhondve, zila panchayat CEO Sandeep GR and others were present at the NIC assembly hall for the video conference.
Though, it was a holiday on account of second Saturday and most of the officials appeared in a relaxed mood on account continuous Diwali holidays, they participated in the meet. The CM had specially arranged the meeting, as he had to leave the country on Saturday itself for his week-long US trip.
Officially, two press notes were released on the CM’s video conferencing meeting. One release issued from Bhopal focused on the CM’s deliberations with commissioners and collectors towards sincere implementation of the ‘Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana’. Another release issued from Ujjain did not highlight the ‘Yojana’ nor were any directives issued by the CM in this regard. However, the press release stated that “the CM ‘appreciated’ commissioner Ojha and his team, as Ujjain division stood first in the redressal of revenue cases,”
Mockery of the government functioning can also be gauged from the fact that the release issued from Bhopal did not mention that Ujjain division or any another division got the top position in the redressal of revenue cases. Moreover, there were no words of appreciation for Ujjain’s officers, as claimed in the release issued in Ujjain. It was informed that copies of 4.19 crore ‘khasra-khatoni’ have been distributed to the farmers during the revenue campaign. Beside this, 62, 000 demarcation cases, 44, 000 diversion and undisputed mutation cases and 3.52 lakh cases of partition have been addressed.
When Free Press tried to get the number of revenue cases, due to which the Ujjain division got the ‘first position’ in MP as claimed by local press note, no such information was made available. Efforts to contact commissioner Ojha also turned futile as he did not receive the call.
