Asia Cup 2017: The young Indian team is flying high on confidence after leading a strong campaign in the Asia Cup tournament which is underway in Dhaka. (Twitter)Asia Cup 2017: India eye for their fourth win over Pakistan this year as the two traditional rivals lock horns in their last match of the Super 4 fixtures of Asia Cup 2017 in Dhaka. The Men in Blue will focus on improving their performance from their previous clash against Pakistan in which they beat the Green Brigade 3-1. India have sailed through the tournament showing impressive form. They notched up three successive wins in the Pool stage but the forward line was put to test against a highly defensive Korean side in their first Super-4s match. India showed sublime skills in their clinical demolition of the Malaysian side and will look to carry on the winning form. Though India are on top of the table with four points from one draw and one win, Malaysia are close second with three points from their win against Pakistan, while Korea have two points from two draws and Pakistan are at No.4 with one point. Pakistan will give their all to win today’s match or else it is game over for the neighbours.

8:15 pm: India have comprehensively beaten Pakistan 4-0 to seal a place in the final of the competition. Satbir, Harmanpreet, Lalit and Gurjant score for the Men in Blue.
8:08 pm: GOAL: Another superb team play from India and it has resulted into a goal. A great low cross from Satbir and Gurjant stops it easily and hits home a fierce shot to make it 4-0 in favour of India with 4 mins to go.
8:02 pm: GOAL!!! THAT’S 3-0. CONVERTED BY LALIT UPADHYAY. Pakistan dream to play in final seem to fade.
8:01 pm: GOAL!!!! HARMANPREET FLICK FINALLY BEATS PAK GOALKEEPER. HARMAN RUNS TO THE SIDELINES AND KEEPS HIS HAND OVER HIS MOUTH.
7:55 pm: Penalty Corner: Ramandeep takes the set piece, bad trap, Ind tried to hit the ball in the net after deflection but failed.
7:53 pm: As the clock continues ticking the chances of going to Asia Cup 2017 seems to fade away. But Pak still has 12 minutes of the last quarter to win the match by +4 goal difference.
7: 51 pm: And now Lalit Upadhyay misses with the goalkeeper in front. Again can’t control. And that’s the end of the 3rd Quarter. India leading 1-0 with a quarter left.
7:46 pm: Pak goalkeeper brings off a wonderful save off Harmanpreet’s flick. Pak wilting a bit after doing all the hard work in the 1st 2 quarters. India leading 1-0.
7:46 pm: And India get their 5th PC in the 3rd quarter. Good opportunity to kill the match here.
7:43 pm: GOAL: India have taken the lead courtesy of Gurjant Singh. Satbir gave a defender the shimmy and was free inside the D. He then passed the ball to Gurjant towards the far end but the ball took a deflection off a Pakistan defender and goes inside the goal. India lead 1-0 with 6 mins left in the third quarter.
7:38 pm: More than 16 wrong passes from the Indians. Against a tightly laid out opposition, is it difficult for the Indians to create? Drizzle comes down again.
7:36 pm: Rizwan tries to go for a long through ball but misses Arslan completely who was inside the Indian D. Pakistan have once again started on the front foot in this quarter, same as in the first two.
7:35 pm: The 3rd quarter starts. Let’s see what India throws up. With two quarters left, India will surely keep possession or atleast try. Pakistan need goals to be able to beat India’s goal difference which is +4. And they have to win the match too.

7:20 pm: Second Penalty Corner for India, Harmanpreet with a powerful strike but the ball hits the cross bar. That was the first time India came close to scoring a goal. Just two shots so far for Team Blue.
7:17 pm: Penalty Corner: Pakistan get another PC and India are not reviewing it. Dangerous play from India inside the D as in trying to clear it Sumit hit the ball in the air. However, Pakistan still cannot score as Ahmed hits the ball into one of the defenders and the ball blazer over the ball.
7:14 pm: India have been second best in all departments so far in the match. Pakistan are closing down the Indian players very quickly and they aren’t giving away anything easily at the moment.
7: 13 pm: Almost the middle of the 2nd quarter and India still dont have a shot at goal. Very few penetrations.
7:11 pm: India is slightly rattled at the moment. Instead of holding and finding space, they are running blindly into Pak players.
7:09 pm: India need to hold the ball better. They need to play simple, basic hockey.
7:07 pm: Second Quarter Starts, Aslan hits a through ball right through the middle and Akash Chikte lets the ball roll inside the goal. However, it will not count as a goal because nobody touch the ball inside the circle. Pakistan start brightly in the second quarter as well.
7:06 pm: At the end of first quarter Pakistan dominated India, although the team in green could not find the back of the net as the score remained leveled at 0-0. India still looking to make a mark on the game.
7:03 pm: Penalty Corner: Much more like it from India as Ramandeep hits the ball into one of the Pakistani defender’s leg and wins their first PC of the day with 1:42 to go. But Harmanpreet couldn’t drag the ball as it got stuck in the lump of water. Great chance go a begging for India.
7:02 pm: 10 mins gone in the first quarter and the story so far is India started strong with good passes but suddenly Pakistan got a better of the Men in Blue. Three Penalty won by Pakistan but could not get any goal through the set pieces
6:59 pm: Pakistan continues to pressurise the Indian defence. Another Penalty Corner won by the Green Brigade. Could not convert the set piece.
6:55 pm: Another penalty corner on by Pakistan. India in trouble, a great shot by Pakistan hits the post and goes out. India saved by whiskers.
6:52 pm: Pakistan have called for a review once again as they claim the ball hit the foot of Dipsan Tirkey. Third umpire is looking at it and it could be Pakistan’s second PC of the match. Referee’s decision stand and with that Pakistan loses their review option early in the match.
6:51 pm: Penalty Corner: Pakistan get the first penalty corner of the match as the ball hits the leg of one of the Indian defenders. The Men in Blue have chosen not to refer it as they know it is a clear cut PC in the 7th mins of the quarter.
6:50 pm: Pakistan put a few passes together and were approaching the Indian goal. Skipper Manpreet saw the danger and ran his heart out to stop the defender and push the ball out for a long corner.
6:49 pm: With 5 mins gone in the first quarter, India have been dominating the possession but they haven’t had a clear cut chance so far. Pakistan defenders are working well at the moment.
6:48 pm: Temperature now 25 degrees and humidity at 88%.
6:45 pm: The match has kicked off, India starts on the front foot as they win a penalty corner in the first minute of the first quarter itself. Pakistan have reviewed it and third umpire rules in the favour of Pakistan as it was dangerous play from India. The ball was hit in the air by India.
6:11 pm: Match has been delayed due to rain. The clash will start at 6:30 pm.
