Noida: 65-year-old man jumps to death from 19th floor

NOIDA: A 65-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the 19th floor of a high-rise residential apartment complex in Noida's Sector 79 on Friday night.

The man left a suicide note indicating financial debt as the reason behind his extreme step.

According to the police, the man has been identified as Vinod Kumar Jain. He jumped from the 19th floor of Ajnara apartments, where his son Manish Jain resides, late at night.


The matter came to light when security guards heard a thud and rushed to the courtyard where they found the body lying in a pool of blood. They immediately informed the police who rushed him to a private hospital. However, he was declared brought dead.


Vinay Kumar Singh, the station house officer (SHO) of Sector 49 police station said, "Jain is a resident of Delhi, and had come to his son's place here in Noida."


According to the police, Jain had taken a loan from someone who had been asking him to pay him back. A case has been registered at Sector 49 police station.
