Peddapalli legislator felicitates Medical Officer Humayun

A Government Medical Officer working at a Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Raghavapur in Peddapalli district has won accolades for setting an example by ensuring his wife’s delivery at the PHC. To promote government hospitals, the doctor, Humayun, admitted his wife Neha Kousen in the PHC and also performed her delivery. She gave birth to a baby girl weighing 3.25 kg on Thursday.

Coming to know of this, Peddapalli legislator D. Manohar Reddy along with District Medical and Health Officer K. Pramod Kumar, Deputy DMHO Krupabhai and others visited the PHC and felicitated Dr. Humayun on Friday.

The legislator also handed over the KCR Kit to Neha and felicitated her too.

Congratulating Dr. Humayun for instilling confidence among people about government hospitals, the legislator said the Medical officer was inspired by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s statements on encouraging deliveries in the government hospitals. He said the distribution of KCR Kits and quality medicare had increased institutional deliveries in the government hospitals.

He called upon all the government employees to take inspiration from Dr. Humayun and encourage deliveries in the government hospitals to inspire more people to do so. He also called upon the medical fraternity to ensure proper sanitation in all the hospitals. He said he would submit a proposal to the State government to provide two-wheelers on subsidy to the ANMs to encourage deliveries in the government hospitals.
