Remembering the Mother

HYDERABAD: Mother Teresa belongs to all as she owned every human person as her own child particularly the poor and abandoned in the society”, said Rajeshwar Rao, MLC who participated in the concluding ceremony of Mother Teresa Film Festival jointly organised by Amruthavani Regional Communication Centre and SIGNIS Telangana & AP States at St. Mary’s B.Pharmacy College, Secunderabad recently. 

Thumma Bala, Archbishop of Hyderabad who presided over the closing ceremony said that the Missionary Sisters of Charity started by Mother Teresa about 5,000 of them in number are serving in all the seven continents of the world through more than 500 charity service centres reaching out to the less fortunate and who are deprived of love and affection in society.  In Hyderabad and around, the Charity Sisters are taking care of the dying on the streets by being there for them in their last moments of life and caring for the orphan children. 

Earlier U. Balashoury, the Director of Amruthavani Communication Centre and President of SIGNIS Telangana and AP spelt the objective of the event. The festival had 30 films on Mother Teresa were screened for the public to once again bring the memories of Mother and her legacy. Jaya Sudha, former MLA, Secunderabad speaking on the occasion, said that she was inspired also by Mother Teresa to do charity programs.  St. Francis College students performed the dance from The Mother Album composed by Anoop Rubens sung by Sadhana Sargam, which enthralled the audience.

B. Vinod, Vijay and Showrilu sang Veluthune Vundu to the heartbeat of the participants. Suddala Ashok Teja gave the lyrics and Anoop Rubens composed the song. Several schools and colleges participated in the screening from the city.
