Public money wasted on Ayodhya show: Zafaryab Jilani

The Babri Masjid Action Committee raised objections to the fanfare with which the Yogi Adityanath celebrated Deepotsav in Ayodhya today and claimed that public money was "wasted" on the show.

"It is a matter of grave concern that public fund was wasted on the event," the body's convener Zafaryab Jilani said after a meeting of the committee here.

The meeting took exception to the Adityanath dispensation working as "a of a particular community", he said.

"The Adityanath seems to be working for a particular community, though the Constitution does not allow any to have relations with any particular community," Jilani said in a statement.

The in plans to erect a huge statue of Lord Ram in Ayodhya at the State's expense. This is against the tenets of the Constitution, he claimed.

Jilani said that though these works were against the spirit of the Constitution, Muslims should not interfere as it might lead to law and order problems.
