NEW DELHI: Auto stocks such as Tata Motors (down 1.63 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (down 1.07 per cent) and Eicher Motors (down 0.91 per cent) declined up to 1 per cent in Wednesday's trade, dragging the Nifty Auto index lower.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.32 per cent down at 11,185 around 10:55 am (IST). Benchmark Nifty50 was 0.34 per cent down at 10,200, while Sensex was 0.31 per cent down at 32,509.

Maruti Suzuki India (down 0.47 per cent), Bajaj Auto (down 0.47 per cent), Exide Industries (down 0.36 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (down 0.35 per cent), Bosch (down 0.25 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (down 0.18 per cent), Tata Motors (down 0.15 per cent) and Bharat Forge (down 0.11 per cent) were also losing in trade.

Shares of TVS Motor Company (up 0.32 per cent) and MRF (up 0.04 per cent) were trading marginally up around that time.

Shares of Reliance Industries (up 2.28 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 1.59 per cent), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (up 1.46 per cent), Wipro (up 1.43 per cent), Power Grid (up 1.39 per cent) and Indiabulls Housing Finance (up 1.03 per cent) were trading in the green in the Nifty50 index.

However, Axis Bank (down 7.09 per cent), ICICI Bank (down 3.83 per cent), Bharti Infratel (down 2.98 per cent), Zee Ent. (down 2.82 per cent), YES Bank (down 2.37 per cent), Tech Mahindra (down 2.30 per cent), State Bank of India (down 2.25 per cent) and Cipla (down 2.23 per cent) were losing in trade.
