Brussels Airport Company to host the 28th Annual Assembly in June 2018

Airports Council International (ACI) is pleased to announce that Brussels Airport Company will host next year's ACI EUROPE/World Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition, to be held from 18–20 June 2018. A handover ceremony took place today in Mauritius, at the 27th ACI Africa/World Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition. Romesh Bhoyroo, Chief Executive Officer, Airports of Mauritius, officially passed hosting duties for next year's conference to Arnaud Feist, Chief Executive Office, Brussels Airport Company.  

"Brussels Airport is proud to welcome in 2018 the ACI EUROPE/World Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition at the heart of the European capital," said Feist. "Brussels is known around the globe as the Capital of Europe and for being home to the European institutions, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and so many international organizations, companies and non-governmental organizations. The event will be a unique opportunity for the aviation industry to share experiences, to develop networks and to expand business. It is also a great honour for our country to host this congress with its 1,000 plus participants who will experience the famous Belgian hospitality and our rich cultural and artistic diversity."

"We are delighted to announce our co-hosting the ACI World Annual Congress and Assembly in 2018, with Brusselsour home airport," said Olivier Jankovec, Director General, ACI EUROPE. Europe is the test-bed for so many innovations and trends in the airport business and we look forward to sharing the latest developments with airport colleagues from around the worldexchanging expertise with them on the many facets of this fascinating industry and the challenges facing the wider air transport sector."

"The world's airports accomplished much in a short period of time this week in Mauritius, and I'd like to reiterate my gratitude to AML for being such a gracious host," said Angela Gittens, Director General, ACI World. "In addition to the comprehensive conference programme, the ACI World Assembly approved important resolutions that aim to ensure a safe and sustainable future for the world's airports and the communities they serve. We look forward to working with our 2018 host, Brussels Airport Company, as we build on the successes of this year's annual conference."

It was also announced at the handover ceremony that the 2018 ACI Africa Regional General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition will be held in Lagos with The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) as host.
