Sexual harassment and abuse has been a growing issue in India and even as several people are finally raising their voice against the issue with initiatives like #MeToo campaign. The number of creeps, perverts and offenders are far from going down. One such crazy abusive man named Vinay Nair has an Instagram account that is dedicated to videos of him harassing and touching women wearing backless blouses. This sexual offender enjoys filming women wearing backless blouses and touches them inappropriately. These videos are then shamelessly shared online by this perverted man who has managed to upload 63 videos online that have not been taken off.
Going by the name Vinay Nair, this creep from Mumbai posts atrocious videos of feeling up women without their consent. As creepy as it sounds, he goes out on the streets to capture videos of touching women on their backs inappropriately. Shockingly, he has a taken on a #100backlessblouses challenge to make his count reach to 100. But, what’s worse is that he already has 1,744 followers and in his description talks about his obsession with women wearing backless blouses.
This is the first post he uploaded in 2015 on his Instagram profile, and there is also a Facebook page in his name. A Facebook user, Angad Gummraju, found this profile while searching for blouse designs online. Sharing it on his account, he wrote, “I was looking for blouse designs a few days ago, and guess what I found. An account of a man filming himself touching women on the streets, and 1634 people that follow it. A goddamn account of his ‘trophies’, of every time he’s touched a woman’s body against her will. Makes me sick to my stomach. I don’t know how but can this vile scum be tracked down? Anyone? Please share. Edit: Not sure if reporting’s a good idea anymore.”
However, his videos are all captured in crowded markets and other public places where he films random women wearing blouses with deep cut back and touches them inappropriately. The sick creep appears to be from Mumbai as most of his videos are from Ghatkopar, Saki Naka area. Various people on social media have been offended by this scamp and have been urging others into reporting the account. However, the account continues to exist as of now and the fact that the man has gotten away with sharing such offensive videos for more than a year speaks mountains about the ease with which sexual offenders continue to roam around unaffected by the protests and the voices that are being raised.
The recent #MeToo campaign brought out the magnitude of the number of cases of sexual harassment or abuse that has been experienced by maximum women and some men all over the world. While talking on the issue, various social media celebrities like Rohan Joshi and Vir Das also highlighted the importance of men to come forward and accept the mistakes they have made and take efforts to change the reality. It is high time we begin and maybe we can begin by taking this creepy Instagram account down.
