Travel Bazaar strikes a chord with investors

BHUBANESWAR: The final day of Odisha Travel Bazaar, jointly organised by State Government and FICCI, saw participation from tourism infrastructure investors as well as foreign travel agencies on Tuesday.Tourism Secretary Mona Sharma said the Government hopes to be successful on both the fronts - working with investors as well as foreign tour operators in attracting tourists.
During the three-day event, 15 investors expressed interest to develop tourism infrastructure such as hotel, amusement parks, ayurvedic massage centres and ropeways in the State.

As many as 46 travel operators from 19 countries participated and enquired about key tourist destinations and tour packages.MD and CEO of Yes Bank Rana Kapoor said Odisha holds unparalleled potential to become a hotspot for traditional and emerging avenues of tourism.
Head of tourism panel of FICCI, Odisha Council, JK Mohanty said Odisha has potential to be sold as three-week long package to tourists.

Many overseas tour operators admitted that they were unaware of State’s tourism potential till they attended the event. Head of FICCI, Odisha State Council, Sanjeev Mohanty said the queries for investment prospects and tourist destinations indicate the success of the event.
