New Delhi: The SBI Foundation has committed Rs10 crore for the conservation and restoration of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST) of Mumbai over a period of three to five years.
The CST railway station, formerly known as Victoria Terminus, is a Unesco World Heritage Site. Through this project, the CSR arm of the State Bank of India aims to contribute in development and preservation of world heritage structures, SBI said in a statement.
Restoration work of CST heritage building will be done by INTACH, an expert agency. As part of the “Swachh Bharat Mission”, the government aims to make 100 iconic heritage, spiritual and cultural places in the country to promote “swachha tourist destinations”.
