Indore: Technical flaws of road and traffic engineering will be addressed under supervision of consultants. The defunct traffic signals will also be made operational soon, said collector Nishant Warwade while holding a meeting of district road safety committee here on Tuesday.

DIG Harinarayanchhari Mishra, IMC commissioner Manish Singh, SP headquarter Mohmmad Yusuf Kureshi, SP West Vivek Singh, ADM Ruchika Chouhan, Ajaydev Sharma, additional SP (traffic) Prashant Choubey and regional transport officer MP Singh were also present at the meeting.

Warwade instructed officers of NHAI and IDA to carryout inspection of accident prone zones along with consultants and address the problems at the earliest.

Talking about maintenance of old traffic signals, he instructed to install new bleaker signals at squares. “Signal maintenance should be outsourced to any single agency, so that it can carry out the job with full responsibility. All cut points from Vijay Nagar square to MR-10 road will be blocked,” the collector said.

The progress of shifting of Loha Mandi was also discussed in the meeting. Police department was instructed to stop illegal parking in New Loha Mandi. Road from Bankebihari Mandir to Imam Bada is likely to be converted to one-way. However, before taking final decision on this, a trial would be conducted there, the meeting decided. The decision would be however implemented with consent of local public representatives and traders. The meeting also decided that ban on pressure horns will be implemented strictly and route for e-rickshaws chalked out. Warwade instructed RTO MP Singh to implement all the decisions taken in the meeting.
