Market Now: Idea Cellular, Bharti Airtel among most traded stocks

NEW DELHI: Shares of Idea Cellular (number of shares traded: 0.33 crore), Bharti Airtel (0.31 crore) and Hindalco Industries (0.16 crore) were trading as the most active stocks in terms of volume on NSE in Tuesday's early trade.
Stocks such as Reliance Industries (0.16 crore), Vedanta (0.14 crore), Bharti Infratel (0.14 crore), Ashok Leyland (0.13 crore), DLF (0.12 crore), State Bank of India (0.12 crore), NHPC (0.10 crore), Sun Pharma (0.10 crore) and Axis Bank (0.09 crore) were also in the league.
Equity markets opened on a cautious note on Tuesday, tracking mixed global cues. A fresh spell of selling emerged in pharma, metal, FMCG and metal stocks.
The Nifty50 index was trading 15 points lower at 10,216, while Sensex was at 32,583, down 51 points around 9.50 am (IST).

In the Nifty index, Asian Paints (up 1.49 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation (up 1.42 per cent), Bharti Airtel (up 1.24 per cent), HCL Technologies (up 1.06 per cent), Indiabulls Housing Finance (up 0.96 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services (up 0.95 per cent) were trading among the top gainers.
On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra (down 1.29 per cent), UPL (down 1.11 per cent), Tata Motors (down 1.10 per cent), Eicher Motors (down 0.99 per cent) and Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (down 0.99 per cent) were among the top losers.
On the NSE, 735 stocks were advancing, compared with 803 stocks declining and 420 stocks remaining unchanged.
