NEW DELHI: A minor fire broke out in the premises of the Prime Minister's Office in South Block in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, news agency ANI reported.

The blaze, which started in Room no 242 on the second floor of the PMO at around 3.35 am, was quickly brought under control. Ten fire tenders were rushed to the spot and doused the flames within 20 minutes.

"At around 3.35 a.m we got a call in our control room that a fire broke out in PMO's office, room number 242," Divisional Fire Officer Gurmukh Singh told ANI.

He said the fire broke out due to sparking in a computer's UPS.
