BENGALURU: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has chosen veteran Veerappa Moily as the Chairman of its manifesto committee, while B L Shankar has been appointed as the Vice Chairman. As many as 33 party leaders including S R Patil, Dinesh Gundu Rao, Kagodu Thimmappa, H K Patil, MB Patil and others have been appointed to the committee.

The AICC has also appointed 94 people as Executive Committee members. The presidents of 15 district committees have been changed. For the last few months, consultations were being held with various leaders and workers. Changes were reportedly made in district units to sort out differences among the workers.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President G Parameshwara said they had already started identifying candidates for various constituencies. “Such candidates have already been told to start with the groundwork in their area.” Questioned about Channapatna MLA C P Yogeshwar quitting the party, Parameshwar said the party no idea why Yogeshwar and others had left the party. “It does not matter if they leave the party. There are 20 legislators from BJP waiting to join Congress.” he claimed.
