The video shows a baggage handler going through passengers' luggage inside the aircraft, unaware that he was being filmed. However, it's not clear if the man broke open the lock to get access to the contents of the bags.
The video in question is from Phuket International Airport, Thailand where a baggage handler was caught on camera sifting through checked-in luggage on a Jetstar flight headed to Singapore. The 27-year-old man, employed with a third-party handling company, was arrested and charged after the video leaked. The video was reportedly part of a sting set up by Airports of Thailand and Tourism Police. The man reportedly stole a bluetooth speaker which was made to return. An investigation has been launched into the incident as well.
"Jetstar is aware of a video circulating online and we are taking the matter very seriously. We have launched an immediate investigation and will work with Airports of Thailand, our ground handler BAGS and our local security company to ensure the security of our customers' property on-board our flights," the company told News.com.au in a statement.
