Two girls killed, one hurt in road accident

KANPUR: Two minor girls, who were going to a coaching on bicycles, died while two others, including a 28-year-old motorcycl-borne man, sustained serious injuries after being knocked down by a speeding truck near Peeranpur under Kotwali police station in Fatehpur on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Chhaya Sahu (14), daughter of Satya Narain and Rachna (13), daughter of Shivsharan of Lodhiganj locality of the district. The truck, after hitting the girls, rammed into a tractor and turned turtle before knocking down two others The driver managed to flee. "We have have lodged a case of rash and negligent driving against the truck driver. We have launched a hunt to arrest him," said a police official at Kotwali police station.
