NEW DELHI: Kansai Nerolac Paints on Monday reported a 3.6 per cent year-on-year rise in net profit at Rs 144.63 crore for the quarter ended September 30.

The paint maker had reported a profit of Rs 139.31 crore in the corresponding quarter of last.

Net Sales for the quarter rose 2.67 per cent YoY to Rs 1,161.82 crore compared with Rs 1,131.54 crore in the same quarter last year. The company said the September quarter numbers were reported net of GST, while those of last financial year's inclusive on excise duty.

"Had the previously reported revenues been regrouped, the revenue growth would have been 16.2 per cent in the September quarter," the company said.

Company managing director HM Bharuka said the company registered a double-digit volume growth led by decorative segment. Bharuka said that the quarter saw preponement of sales due to early Diwali.

Ebitda for the quarter came in at Rs 221.3 crore, up 11.6 per cent compared with Rs 198.50 crore in the year-ago quarter. Ebitda margin for the quarter fell to 20 per cent from 22.1 per cent in the September quarter of last year.
