Ferrari’s 70th Anniversary brings in rarest cars since 1949, LaFerrari Aperta steals show

    Ferrari has been one of the most elite car manufacturers in the world. At times, Ferrari is so inaccessible that you can't just buy a car off their shelf but the Italian brand must deem you suitable and choose you to let you own one. This year, Ferrari marked its 70th anniversary and Manhattan had the chance to gawp at some of the most incredible models the company has ever built, including ageless classics and modern icons.

    The event was divided in four sections at four locations: 30 Rockfeller Plaza which showcased Michael Schumacher's 2001 championship-winning Formula 1 car, a 250 California Spyder and a LaFerrari Aperta, among others.

    The Hublot Flagship Store had current and historic Ferrari race cars on display. Ferrari New York Showroom put a handful of modern, front-engine V12 cars on display. And Sotheby's display was a 10th-floor gallery with a collection of 1950s and 1960s V12-powered GTs and a gorgeous 250 LM.

While the Rockefeller Plaza was open to everyone and anyone, 70th Anniversary Gala Celebration’s private reception at the Top of the Rock was not. But such exclusivity is one of the reasons that fuel the desire people have for Ferraris.
