In a stinging attack on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswamy and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, DMK has likened them to deadly Dengue mosquitoes. In a cartoon carried by DMK’s mouthpiece Murasoli, EPS and OPS have been described as traitors who have drunk more blood of people of the state than the mosquitoes, according to India Today report. DMK has time to time attacked both of them over the AIADMK faction fight.

On September 10, Leader of Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Assembly M K Stalin had alleged that the ruling AIADMK in the state has “lost its majority” with the dissent by 21 of its MLAs and the DMK-led opposition commanding a strength of 98 in the House. “With the DMK and its allies having a strength 98 MLAs in the Assembly and the ruling party’s 21 dissenting legislators, the AIADMK government, led by K Palaniswami, has lost its majority in the House,” he was quoted as saying by PTI.

In August, The principal Opposition party in Tamil Nadu DMK today celebrated the 75th anniversary of its mouthpiece Murasoli, according to India Today report. The two-day celebration was held in Chennai. Tamil superstar Rajinikanth and Matinee idol Kamal Haasan had attended the event, the report says. The event was organised at Kalaivanar Arangam, a prominent auditorium in Tamil Nadu capital.
