The next batch of Jio Phones will start getting delivered to buyers from this date.
Reliance Jio Phone pre-booking will go into the second round after Diwali (October 19). According to a report in PTI, the pre-booking for the Jio mobile will begin after the festival of Diwali. The report in PTI claims that the next batch of Jio Phones will start getting delivered to buyers either in the last week of October or in the first week of November. It should be noted that Reliance Jio has not released any official statement on this news. The company is currently focussing on its first phase of booking in their delivery.
According to Reliance, more than 6 million Jio Phones have been booked till now and it is a huge number of devices to be delivered. The company has claimed that it has received almost 10 million registrations regarding the interest in the Jio mobile from all over the country and it includes rural areas, towns, cities, as well as metros. While Reliance is focussing on delivering the 4G feature phone in rural areas initially, it will be a huge task to reach the urban areas as well. Reliance had begun to deliver the first batch of mobiles in Navaratri.
Reliance Jio in its 4G feature phone is giving away free voice calling along with certain data offers. In terms of data, the Jio monthly pack costs Rs 153, and the network offers 500MB of data per day. Additionally, there are 2day and weekly data plans priced at Rs 24 and Rs 54 respectively. The Jio Phone features a 2.4-inch display and runs on KaiOS. The device does not support the usual Android and iOS applications like YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp and more. It has a single SIM slot and works on the Jio network. The 4G VoLTE phone has a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front camera. In terms of storage, the Jio mobile has 512MB RAM and 4GB internal memory, which can be expanded using a microSD card.

Apart from Reliance Jio, rival company Bharti Airtel has come up with a cheap 4G smartphone in partnership with Karbonn Mobiles. The Airtel Karbonn A40 smartphone is effectively priced at Rs 1399.
