On October 16, the equity markets closed on a positive note as both Sensex and Nifty finished with 0.6 per cent gain. 30-share BSE Sensex gained 200.95 points to close on 32,633.64 while the broader 50-share NSE Nifty finished on 10,230.85, up by 63.40 points. In intra-day trade, Nifty scaled the fresh peak of 10,242.95.
